Golfing Sisters is a Finalist Image for the Renaissance Photography Prize 2014

First Women’s ‘Golfing Sisters’ is selected as one of the Renaissance finalist images to be exhibited at the prestigious Getty Images Gallery from 8th – 20th September 2014.

The photograph was one of the lucky few chosen for the exhibition from almost 7,000 entrants and was selected from the Belonging Category for this inspirational Photography Competition which raises cash for charity, the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care.

The colour portrait, entitled: ‘Golfing sisters in the ladies’ locker room, Royal Mid-Surrey’ has continued to gain attention worldwide since it was first exhibited in Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize Exhibition 2010 and most recently in the Art of Photography show in San Diego in 2013.

Anita Corbin is delighted for the photograph’s continued success remembering the special moment when she documented the sisters for her ongoing project ’First Women’.

“I have been a photographer for over 30 years and I had a very strong feeling that this image would be the one – I was inspired by their independence and wanted to capture their zest for life” The sisters, who like to remain private, described the sitting as ‘A beautiful interlude after tea’.

The exhibition is open to the public from 8th – 20th September. The Awards Ceremony will be held on the 10th September, and tickets/prints sold will be to fundraise for The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care.
